Preparing Your Car For Window Tinting Installation

Prepare your car well, and the car window tinting installers working on it will do a great job of it, within a shorter time. The good news is that prepping your car isn't tedious or complex. Here are a few do's and don'ts to keep in mind.

Clean Your Car

The windows must be spotless before the tint installation begins. Working with a clean surface will ensure that the installation is more accurate and lasts longer.

Your car window tinting installation technician will most definitely give your windows and the surrounding surfaces a good clean right before the installation. It will make the job easier and reduce how much time it takes if you clean your car before the appointment, paying special attention to the windows.

Avoid Pretreat Chemicals and Coatings

Wax may make your car windows shine, but waxing your windows before getting them tinted is never a good idea. The same applies to the use of pretreatment chemicals when cleaning your windows.

Both pretreatment chemicals and wax may affect the adhesion of the car window tinting. As such, the tinting may not look as good or last as long, compared to if you did not use these products. You can be sure that the installers will not be waxing or using the pretreat chemicals, and neither should you.

Clear Items

You should remove any personal items from the boot of your car or the back seat. These items may get wet during the car window tinting installation, and the installers will claim no responsibility for the damage.

Your installer also reserves the right to refuse to work on your car window tinting until you remove these items. Therefore, it's best to co-operate and clear any personal items in addition to removing child restraints such as booster seats from your car before showing up for your appointment.

Remove Window Stickers

Ensure that you remove all the stickers on both the inside and outside of your car window glass. If you leave the job to the installers, then you will only be slowing them down, and they reserve the right to charge you for the service, according to the company policy.

The same applies to removable parts such as rain sensors and antennas. You can do it yourself or leave it to the pros, although the latter may reflect in the final cost.

As outlined, getting ready for your car window tinting is quite straightforward. To learn more information about car window tinting, reach out to a company such as Solar Tint, Inc.
